Unlike many of the resorts on Menorca Cala'n Forcat is quite busy. There are Lots of restaurants, bars, shops & supermarkets. There is also a water park situated on the main road.

The beaches are all very small coves and the two at the north of the resort require you to climb down steps, they could present some problems for the elderly or disabled. The south beach is about a 20 minute walk from the centre, the mini train runs every half hour to this beach and stops at various points along the way, you will hear the train long before you see it as it blasts out Tom Jones & Abba at 3,000 decibels.

There is a diving club at one of the north coves who welcome beginner's and experts alike. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday but also want a bit of night life then this is the place to come.

The beaches
The beaches can be quite hard to find so here are the directions.

Beach No 1... Walk down the main street with the coast line on your Left, past the Yuca bar on the right until you come to a fork in the road, take the left fork and stay on the left hand side of the road until you see a large hotel. Just before the hotel you will see the sign for the beach.

Beach No 2... Opposite the Yuca bar or the John Travolta Statue (roundabout) you will see a track, follow the track until you get to the road then turn right, cross over and follow the road round. You can also get to this beach by road. Turn up by the water park and take a right turn.

Beach No 3... Walk down the main street with the coast line on your right. when you come to a four way junction it's opposite you.

Getting around
The local bus service is excellent. it runs every 20 mins to Ciutadella. You get on and pay your money at the front and exit at the rear. On the return journey from the square in Ciutadella you must purchase tickets from the kiosk.

Car rental is very cheap and most of the cars seem to be in excellent condition. The only problem we had was trying to get through Ciutadella on to the Mahon road. The directions are as follows.

Follow the road from Cala'n Forcat to Ciutadella, past the petrol station. When you come out from between the houses take a left, then right, then left again. Follow this road round until you see a windmill on the left. Get into the left lane and turn left at the lights. Follow this road and go straight over the three roundabouts.

There is now a new bypass running north of Ciutadella which makes it easy to get round to the Cala'n forcat area.
